Etnyre Black Topper
Distributor Series

The Etnyre Black Topper is the benchmark in asphalt distribution. Precision spray bars, consistent application rates, and proven reliability on everything from Texas county chip seal to TxDOT highway fog seal. Our fleet is maintained to manufacturer specs and ready to work anywhere in the state.

Tank Capacity

2,000 Gal

Our standard fleet runs 2,000-gallon tanks — the right volume for most county road, chip seal, and overlay tack coat projects.

Spray Bar Width

12–24 ft

Hydraulic full-circulating spray bars available in multiple widths. Confirm your required coverage width when booking — bar width determines how many passes your job needs.

Transmission

Manual / Auto

Manual transmission for experienced operators who want precise ground speed control during spraying. Automatic available for crews who prefer it. Specify at booking.

Application Rate

0.01–2.5 gsy

Full-range rate control for prime coat, tack coat, chip seal, and fog seal applications.

Heat System

Diesel or Propane

Choose diesel-fired or propane-fired heat. Both deliver full-circulation heating to maintain material temperature and consistent application viscosity. Specify your preference when booking.

Computer Controls

Optional

Etnyre computerized control systems available for precise metered application on critical projects.

When you call or submit a quote: Let us know your required spray bar width, whether you need manual or automatic transmission, and your heat system preference. These three specs determine which unit we match you with.

Materials We Handle

Our Etnyre 2,000-gallon units are configured and optimized for asphalt emulsions and cutback asphalts — the materials that make up the vast majority of Texas chip seal, fog seal, tack coat, and prime coat work. Hot bituminous materials (AC grades, PG binders, AR-4000) operating above 275°F are outside the designed operating range of our rental fleet. We will rent to customers intending to use high-temperature materials, but we strongly advise against it. Performance will be compromised, spray bar failures are likely, and the renter bears full liability for any equipment damage resulting from high-temp material use.

Important Notice Regarding High-Temperature Materials: The Etnyre units available in our rental fleet are not configured or equipped to reliably support hot bituminous materials operating above 275°F, including AC-10, AC-20, PG 64-22, PG 70-22, and AR-4000. While we will rent equipment to customers who choose to use these materials, we strongly advise against it. Machine performance will be compromised, and spray bar failures are a foreseeable outcome when operating outside the equipment's designed temperature range. The renter assumes full liability for all spray bar failures, component damage, and any resulting losses attributable to the use of high-temperature materials. This disclaimer forms part of our rental agreement. Call us at (713) 965-4429 to discuss your material requirements before booking.

What You Can Do
With Our Equipment

Etnyre distributors handle the full range of bituminous spray applications. If your project involves liquid asphalt on pavement, we have the equipment.

Chip Seal (Seal Coat)

Apply emulsified asphalt as a binder coat before aggregate spreading. Ideal for county roads, rural highways, and parking lot preservation. Etnyre spray bars deliver precise coverage rates for uniform chip retention.

Tack Coat Application

Bond new asphalt overlays to existing pavement layers. Our distributors apply RS-1, SS-1, and CRS-2 emulsions at controlled rates, ensuring proper interlayer adhesion for longer-lasting overlays.

Prime Coat

Penetrate and stabilize aggregate base before asphalt paving. Distributor-applied MC-30 or SS-1h prime coat locks the base and provides a bonding surface for the structural layer above.

Fog Seal

Rejuvenate oxidized pavement surfaces and extend pavement life without aggregate. Low-volume asphalt emulsion applications slow surface raveling on aging roads between scheduled overlays.

Micro-Surfacing Prep

Apply tack or prime before micro-surfacing operations where precise rate control is critical to mix adhesion. Our computerized units deliver the consistency your spec requires.

Airport & Industrial

Apron sealing, taxiway maintenance, large parking lot preservation, and industrial pad sealing. We can configure equipment for DOT airport projects and private industrial sites.

Why Contractors
Choose Us

We're not a general equipment rental company that happens to carry a distributor. Asphalt distribution equipment is our specialty — 2,000-gallon Etnyre units, diesel or propane, ready to work anywhere in Texas. Here's what that means for you.

⚙️

Equipment That Actually Works

Every unit is cleaned, inspected, and spray-bar tested before every rental. We won't put you on the road with a distributor that hasn't been through our checklist. Downtime on your job is lost money — we take that seriously.

📞

Technical Support Included

Have a question about application rates, nozzle selection, or material temperature? Our team has worked with asphalt distributors for decades. Call us on the job and get a real answer, not a 1-800 number transfer.

🚛

Delivered Anywhere in Texas

We arrange transport of the distributor to and from your job location anywhere in Texas. West Texas ranch roads, Panhandle county routes, Gulf Coast overlays, Hill Country chip seal — if it's in the state, we've delivered there.

📋

Structured Rental Terms

All rentals start at a one-month minimum, with daily and weekly rates available after that. Clear terms, no hidden add-ons — just straightforward pricing built around how road work actually runs.

🛡️

TxDOT-Ready Equipment

Our distributors meet TxDOT specifications and carry current certifications. Paperwork is in order before the unit leaves our yard so you're never stuck on a Texas job site with a compliance problem.

🔥

Diesel or Propane Heat — You Choose

Some jobs call for propane; others run better on diesel. We stock both. Tell us your preference at booking and we'll match you to the right unit. Either way, you get the same full-circulation heating performance.

Common Questions

Straight answers to what contractors ask us most. Tap any question to expand.

What materials can the distributor handle?

Our fleet is optimized for asphalt emulsions (SS-1, SS-1h, RS-1, RS-2, CRS-2, CRS-2P) and cutback asphalts (MC-30, MC-70, RC-250) — the materials used in the overwhelming majority of Texas chip seal, fog seal, tack coat, and prime coat work. Hot bituminous materials including AC grades, PG binders, and AR-4000 operating above 275°F are outside the configured operating range of our units. We will rent to customers using these materials, but we strongly advise against it. Performance will be compromised and the renter assumes full liability for any spray bar failures or equipment damage caused by high-temperature material use.

Do I need a CDL to operate the equipment?

Yes. Operating the distributor truck on Texas public roads requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Class requirements depend on the truck's GVWR. Confirm requirements with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) or your TxDOT project contact prior to booking.

What is the minimum rental period?

All rentals have a one-month minimum. After the initial month, daily and weekly rates apply so you're only paying for the time you need. We don't lock you into longer commitments than your project requires.

What's the $5,000 cleaning fee?

A $5,000 non-refundable cleaning fee is required upfront before every rental delivery. This covers the full post-rental cleaning, tank flush, and system purge when the unit is returned. It is non-refundable and collected prior to equipment dispatch — no exceptions.

What's included in the base rental rate?

The monthly rental rate covers the 2,000-gallon Etnyre unit, pre-delivery inspection, standard nozzle set, and equipment return pickup. Delivery transport and fuel are quoted separately based on your Texas job site location.

What happens if the equipment breaks down?

We stand behind our fleet. If a mechanical issue arises due to equipment condition (not operator error or misuse), we troubleshoot remotely first, then dispatch support. Your project shouldn't sit idle — that's our commitment to you.

Which heat system — diesel or propane?

It depends on your fuel access on-site and any local regulations. Propane units are popular on jobs near structures or in areas with diesel restrictions. Diesel-fired units are standard for open road work. Our team can help you choose if you're not sure — just ask when you call.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We recommend at least 5–7 business days. During peak chip seal season (spring and fall), 2–3 weeks advance notice is strongly advised to guarantee your preferred heat system. Call us and we'll check availability right away.
